Nitrous is abbreviated NOS for nitrous oxide. The term was used in the film The Fast and the Furious, shortly after the film's release, various automotive newsgroups and forums featured numbers of questions about "NOS" and how to install and use it.
A wet single-point nitrous kits introduces the fuel and nitrous mixed together, causing the upper intake to become wet with fuel. However, most makes of nitrous kits combined with unsuitable intake designs, often result in distribution problems and/or intake backfires. With the use of wet flow intakes this problem has been surpassed.
Wet nitrous kits tend to produce more HP and TQ than dry systems, but in some cases can be more expensive and difficult to install.
A wet nozzle differs in size. The bigger the nozzle you have, the more nitrous can be shot into the intake. Wet nitrous kits mix both fuel and nitrous together and spray into the intake manifold. They are then sucked through the manifold and into the combustion chamber, where your engines detonation takes place. Nitrous oxide is an oxidizing agent. What that does, is allow more fuel to be burnt in each cycle of the engine making more power. It is very safe to use when install properly.
Nitrous kits have so many great advantages over simple bolt on's. For one nitrous kits make real power, not a few HP or TQ that you will never notice. These kits are great to have. The kits are simple to install and offer users real power gains.
