The Honda Accord, has been around for decades now. Many owners have these cars for pure fun, and like to tear up the streets in them. They have been using nitrous kits to make their stock engines function better.

Nitrous is an oxidizing agent. It carries a higher concentration of oxygen into the combustion chamber, allowing the fuel to burn hotter, stronger, and faster. This is okay to use, but you do need a few safety precautions to run nitrous kits. One precaution is upgraded spark plugs. Stock plugs can become faulty under use of nitrous, even melting. After market plugs can absorb the higher temperatures in the engine, and still function fully.

Another issue when running nitrous kits, is that you want to be at WOT when you shoot your nitrous. This is because of the oxidizing part on nitrous. It will burn up your fuel to fast in the combustion chamber if you are not getting enough fuel, cause pre-detonation, and running lean. To fix this issue, a few companies came up with some award winning material. They are little computers that you connect to your ECU, that will only allow nitrous to be shot when you are at wide open throttle. Another part of this technology is that the new computer can see if your engine is running to lean, or to rich and shutt the nitrous off. This is also very important.

Nitrous kits are among the best ways to make after market power. These kits have a load of rumors floating around about how dangerous they can be. When in fact the kits of today are much more safer than the kits of yesterday.
