Each nitrous kit has a unique system that allows it to do other things that other nitrous kits cant do. Using dry nitrous kits, you can make great improvement over a stock engine with bolts on's. In fact the power that you can make, in most cases is more than a 4 thousand dollar turbo kit can generate. Nitrous kits are generally inexpensive, ranging anywhere from 300 dollars to 1000 dollars.
Dry nitrous kits function on a simple level. They simple spray pure nitrous into an intake pipe, which is then sucked into the manifold. From there the nitrous is sucked into the combustion chamber where the nitrous is mixed with the fuel to create a more powerful by-product. The by-product of nitrous is simple. Nitrous contains a higher concentrated form of oxygen. You breathe every day about 12 percent oxygen from the air. In nitrous kits, the oxygen content is about 33 percent. This higher level of oxygen makes fuel burn hotter and faster, creating a higher amount of HP and torque as a by-product.
Some of the kits out there are a little more highly advanced than what used to be around back in the day. Toyota users now can use dry nitrous kits with a lot less worry. Most nitrous kits come with an electronic computer add on to monitor your A/F levels when using the nitrous. This is good, it acts as a saftey feature for your engine from running too lean or too rich. Both of the latter can be very bad.
