Dry nitrous kits are a different sort of system. This kit can deliver a grand amount of power to your engine in a single shot. These kits have been installed and used by professionals at the race track to make extra power needed to fly down the line. However, these kits are much rarer than some of the more common kits out there.
In a this nitrous system, extra fuel required is introduced through the fuel injectors, keeping the manifold dry of fuel. This property is what gives this system its name. Fuel flow can be increased either by increasing the pressure in the fuel injection system, or by modifying the vehicle's ECU to increase the time the fuel injectors remain open during the engine cycle. This is typically done by spraying nitrous past the mass airflow sensor (MAF), which then sends a signal to the vehicle's computer telling it that it sees colder denser air, and that more fuel is needed. This is typically not an exact method of adding fuel. Once additional fuel has been introduced, it can burn with the extra oxygen provided by the nitrous, providing additional power.
- These kits do not spray a mixture of nitrous and fuel
- The nitrous nozzles spray in a 90 degree pattern
These kits are less common for everyday users of nitrous. Most don't realize the great gains that can be accomplished by mastering this nitrous system. These kits, can offer anyone who installs it, a great deal of power. On or off the track, these nitrous kits will surely destroy anything it comes up against. These kits do not require much engine modification at all. In fact they would be labeled as a bolt on part. Unlike other bolt on parts, this one is no joke. It can deal out a 200 HP increase in a single shot, try getting that much power from a 1000 dollar header.
